My Story

Why I Created HTB Elite Hockey Academy

Hockey has been a major part of my life from a young age. Throughout my journey, I have learned that becoming a better player is not just about talent — it is about confidence, preparation, discipline, and the willingness to put in the extra work when nobody is watching.

My goal with HTB Elite Hockey Academy is to make a lasting impact on young hockey players by helping them develop their skills, build confidence, and prepare themselves for the upcoming season. I want every player who trains with me to leave feeling more confident in their abilities and believing that they can reach the next level.

My hockey journey started in Wisconsin youth hockey, where I had the opportunity to play with the Green Bay Gamblers organization and Team Wisconsin. I continued my development at Notre Dame Academy, where I was fortunate to be a First Team All-Conference player all four years of high school and was named Mr. Hockey of Wisconsin my senior year.

After high school, I continued my career in junior hockey, competing against some of the best players in the country. I played for the Spruce Grove Saints in the AJHL, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in the NAHL, and the Pueblo Bulls in the NCDC. These experiences taught me what it takes to compete at higher levels and showed me the importance of skill development, preparation, and confidence.

Today, I continue my hockey career as an NCAA hockey player at Lawrence University, while bringing the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my journey to the next generation of players.

Over the past 2 years, I have been running hockey camps and providing private shooting lessons to players looking to improve their game. I have worked alongside Max McCormick during his camp and with Apex Hockey's camp, and I have also worked with the Northland Pines girls high school team — on top of the private lessons I run throughout the summer. The most rewarding part of coaching has been watching players gain confidence, improve their skills, and realize what they are capable of achieving.

Off-Ice Training

Why Off-Ice Training Matters

The best players are not developed only during team practices and games. The players who separate themselves are the ones who dedicate extra time to improving their skills outside of the rink.

Off-ice training gives players the opportunity to get more quality repetitions, focus on proper technique, and build the muscle memory needed to perform at a higher level. By slowing down the process and focusing on details, players can improve skills that directly translate into game situations.

Off-ice development helps players improve:

  • Shooting mechanics
  • Shot power and accuracy
  • Release speed
  • Stickhandling
  • Puck control
  • Scoring ability
  • Hand speed
  • Confidence with the puck
  • Overall hockey IQ

The more quality repetitions a player gets, the more natural their skills become during games. Confidence comes from preparation, and preparation comes from putting in the work.

At HTB Elite Hockey Academy, my goal is not just to create better hockey players. My goal is to help young athletes become more confident, more prepared, and more excited about their game heading into the upcoming season.

Every player has potential. With the right instruction, environment, and commitment, they can unlock a new level of confidence and performance.

Built Through Experience

“Skills are built through repetition. Confidence is built through success. Both are created through hard work.”
